How to Make a Damon Salvatore AI Video, Step by Step
Updated October 24, 2026
Quick answer
Upload one photo to DamonSalvatore.app, pick Replace My Namesake (20-second church walk) or The Damon Edit (17-second montage), and download a silent square MP4. 680 or 578 credits at 480p. Sign-in required; no free trial.
What You Need
- One photo — JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB, at least 90,000 pixels. One adult, front-facing, both eyes visible, head to waist, no sunglasses or mask.
- A DamonSalvatore.app account — sign-in is required to generate.
- Credits: the church walk uses 680 at 480p or 1,520 at 720p; the Damon edit 578 or 1,292. $1 = 100 credits; one-time packs start at $9. There is no free trial.
Step 1 — Pick the Photo
Both templates are mostly close-ups, so the face carries the clip. Use a sharp photo where you look straight at the camera with both eyes visible, in daylight or a bright room. Head to waist works best.
Your face, hairstyle, facial hair and outfit come from the photo and stay the same in every shot. For the classic look, wear a dark jacket over a plain top. Avoid mirror selfies — the phone can show up in the video.
Step 2 — Choose a Template
Both templates make a silent, square MP4 with you as the lead. They differ in scene and length:
| Template | What it is | Length | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replace My Namesake | You walk into the church as the mourners turn, cross yourself lazily and smirk — then a convertible, sunlit trees, a night party and a kitchen | 20 seconds | 680 (480p) / 1,520 (720p) |
| The Damon Edit | A slow smirk in a dark room, a walk through mist, a red-eyed vampire close-up, a convertible and a cold stare | 17 seconds | 578 (480p) / 1,292 (720p) |
Step 3 — Generate in the Studio
Open the studio, drop your photo in, pick a template and choose 480p or 720p. The price shows on the button before you generate. Processing time varies — usually several minutes — and the task keeps running if you close the page.
When the video is ready, download the MP4 from the studio or your history. Videos are created private — nothing is posted to a public gallery.

Step 4 — Download and Add the Sound
The MP4 comes out silent on purpose. On TikTok, open one of the original church-walk posts, tap the sound and choose "Use this sound", then upload your clip — it shows up under the trend.
The clip is square, the same format as the trend posts. Post it as-is or zoom it to fill the screen in the editor. A common caption is "Replace my namesake with me"; add #damonsalvatore so people find it.
Step 5 — Post Responsibly
- Turn on the AI-generated label when the platform asks.
- Only use photos of yourself or of an adult who agreed to be in the video.
- Never use photos of minors, Ian Somerhalder or any other celebrity — and don't present the clip as real footage.
Photo Do's and Don'ts
Do
- Use a sharp, well-lit photo with your face looking straight at the camera.
- Frame from head to waist so the face and shoulders fill a good part of the photo.
- Use a recent photo — your hair, facial hair and outfit come from it.
Don't
- Sunglasses, hats over the eyes, masks or heavy beauty filters.
- Group photos, mirror selfies or a raised hand in front of the face.
- Motion blur, harsh shadows or a face smaller than a thumbnail.
Troubleshooting
The face drifts in the wide shots
The opening church shots are wide, so the face is small there; the close-ups are where likeness shows. A sharper, more front-facing photo improves every shot.
My outfit changed
The outfit comes from the photo. If the photo is cropped at the chest, the model has to guess the rest — use a head-to-waist photo.
The generation is taking a while
Several minutes per clip is normal for a 17- or 20-second video — the task keeps running in the background and lands in your history.
The result came out blurry
Start from a higher-resolution photo with your face well lit and unobstructed, or choose 720p, then run it again.
